Astrology Horoscope of the Islamabad Pakistan Plane Crash

Horoscope and astrological planetary aspects of the Pakistan Jet Crash, Flight Airblue ED-AQB 202, in Islamabad, on 28 July 2010

Abstract: Are plane crashes written in the stars? Once again, the astrology of this plane crash shows that the influence of the stars in aircraft accidents horoscopes cannot be dismissed easily.

The popular myth of bloody full moons is once again verified with the timing of this sad event. In a sorrowful addition to this, the other astrological aspects of the Islamabad Air Crash show that the traditionally malefic planets Mars and Saturn played a major role in this air plane disaster; it was unfortunate that their placement in the Ascendant would lead to the absolute worst outcome.

Various aspects of the planetary positions outline a catastrophy unfolding with no hope for a positive outcome at landing time. Death and misfortune are highlighted through further details in the horoscope. There are some surprising similarities to other plane crash charts where planetary geometry of heavy planets also presented itself in various aspects of the charts.

Further reading of the chart leads to revealing astrological aspects that beg the question of problems in communication between the doomed pilots and ground control, to the detriment of all involved. Were there other factors, such as the comparative experience or youth of the pilots?

It is a damned certainty that this sad tragedy will have far reaching consequences for those close to the disaster, aircraft safety and the growing unease of the public to fly commercially. Even more regrettable, the causes of this accident will be debated by plane accidents attorneys for years while victims' families await rightful compensation.

Detailed Astrological Analysis of

the Geocentric Chart of the Pakistan Jet Crash

Mars-Saturn: the ill-fated meeting

The Mars-Saturn out-of-sign conjunction in Virgo and Libra lies across the Ascendant and illustrates a catastrophic event for the plane at that time and location. The explosive energy of Mars peregrine in the earthy sign of Virgo is shattered by Saturn exalted in airy Libra.

Jupiter-Uranus: sudden and huge happenings with planes

As a bad chart goes, it's even worse as the above-mentioned conjunction is placed opposite another tremendously powerful conjunction: Jupiter-Uranus, both peregrine in Aries, conjoined to the Descendant. Jupiter lends its immense power to the negative side of Aries - huge energy - and Uranus in Aries describes a plane that was going too fast.

This would be the case with a "missed approach" which in general language means a go-around procedure where landing is aborted, full gas is pumped into the engines to enable the plane to climb again.

Witnesses statements seem to describe this. The Interior Minister stated that the plane was at 2,600 feet as it approached Islamabad but went back up to 3,000 feet. When witnesses say that the plane was too low, i.e. too near the ground, the Mars and Saturn conjunction exhibits exactly this: Saturn - difficulty in rising in the air - and Mars in an earth sign - the illusion of the ground coming up. One witness on the ground, who was out walking, stated that "the plane had lost balance" and that is an expression that entirely fits the astrological description of Mars pushing Saturn (Mars applying to Saturn's conjunction) in Libra (the Scales of the Zodiac which, incidentally, never balance!). The conjunction: air meets ground, the Ascendant: the body of the plane.

Pluto: the harbinger of lethal havoc

Pluto, placed in the IC, 4th house of the "end of things", in Capricorn, an earth sign, is in a loose square configuration to the two conjunctions, having been exact on 25 July 2010, making an extremely powerful destructive T-square. Pluto reinforces the idea of utter carnage on the ground, and Capricorn is a sign connected with difficulties in rising. It also illustrate, as a water planet, the root (IVth) cause of the crash: rain. Capricorn, ruled by Saturn in Ist, and holding dominion over Pluto, was also part of the delay in landing with rain and mud on the runway. Pluto is square to Mars and to Jupiter and illustrates the fire which ravaged the wreckage.

Rescue operations, which could be somewhat ascribed to Pluto in Capricorn in IVth, were chaotic. Access was difficult and coordination non-existent. Capricorn, which makes order, rules and regulations, was being totally shaken by Pluto, and that was the case also with air traffic control being too busy with monitoring and deviating other planes.

That delay was fatal. If the plane had been allowed to land instead of being ordered to go around, it would have been saved. The planets also show there could be some questions on the observance of rules by the various parties, in the air or on the ground. Whether the stubbornness and obstinacy in persisting with an ultimately fated course of action is showed by Saturn (ruler of Capricorn, the older pilot perhaps) or by Pluto (playing havoc in the ATC offices) is difficult to say.

Mercury, Mars, Saturn: troubled health?

Going deeper in the analysis of this T-square, one may wonder whether the comparative experience of both pilots were not at odds with the situation. This would be embodied in the conjunction of an impetuous Mars in young Virgo, peregrine and therefore not at ease, with the old and experienced Saturn, exalted in Libra, where difficult decisions require careful and lengthy consideration.

The fact that these two evil planets are on the Ascendant of the crash begs two questions: one is a possible technical fault (Mercury in Virgo), and a possible health problem with one of the pilots.

Sine the ASC is placed in the 30th critical degree of Virgo and would reach the first degree of Libra exactly conjoining Saturn, this makes it impossible to say which of the pilots could have suffered some physical ailment without knowing exactly, within seconds, the time of the crash.

As for Mercury, it rules Mars from a dominant position and therefore it is very unlikely that the plane suffered any technical fault of a causative nature.

According to rumors, the pilot in command had health or fatigue issues. But in fact, it may be that the chart is trying to tell us that both had a problem, and that could only be the well-known trouble of a loss of situational awareness, which is brought about by sensory and visual illusions such as somatogravic illusions. Humans are made that way and the pilots are not to blame when victims of such illusions.

Pursuing this query, one looks at Mercury, which would be the planet of orientation, mapping and geography. It's essentially dignified in Virgo, in the XIth house of very high learning (higher than the IXth or higher slopes?) and not far from the cusp of the XIIth house (self-undoing). It rules Mars and the MC. On its own, it may, possibly, and it's not totally convincing, show that the younger pilot had some awareness of the situation, but in a very tragic way: with Mars in the XIIth and Mercury on its cusp, the copilot may not have dared say or act. In addition, the old Saturn in Libra, despite being exalted, was damaged by the Mars conjunction and the opposition to Jupiter and Uranus, therefore unable to make a good decision.

The strength of Mercury is completely obliterated by its aspects to the opposition to the conjunction between Moon and Neptune. If ever there was a confusion, that's where to look for it. Moon and Neptune posited in Aquarius, the sign of airplanes, in the Vth, tightly conjunct each other, conjunct the VIth house cusp, highlight a "subservient" confused or bewildered behavior. Both together also mean fog and clouds which would be in accordance with the circumstances of the crash.

A Bloody Full Moon: killing planet

To top it all, the Moon was waning gibbous, i.e. shortly after the Full Moon 2 days previously, peregrine, void of course and separating from Neptune. It's quincunx the Mars-Saturn-Ascendant conjunction and quincunx pesky little asteroid Juno, the latter which keeps finding itself in a prominent position in disaster charts. It's therefore at the apex of the yod. It's really difficult to make this Moon more malefic and more powerful than it was at the time of the plane crash. It's just the sort of Moon one would choose for any type of nasty black magic work.

The Moon was therefore a huge contributory factor to disaster in this chart, it was bound to cause chaos and disruption. Anything of importance was going to fail. The Solar Eclipse of 11 July 2010 occurred near the IC for Islamabad although not tightly conjunct; however, it was exactly conjunct Karachi's IC and this coincidence is too big not to notice.

Sun and Venus: good and powerless

Now a complete picture emerges. The only other planets not involved in deadly combinations are the Sun and Venus. Sun in Leo is essentially dignified, but it is badly placed by house, in the XIth. It has a trine to the Jupiter-Uranus conjunction. This is just not enough to counteract the malefics. If anything, the Sun lent its strength to the suddenness and unpredictability of this conjunction. A fiery planet, it would help start the fires on impact. As for Venus, in fall in Virgo, ruled by Mercury, but exalted by house in the XIIth, it's only good action is probably that hardly anyone in this plane realised they were doomed. Death would have been swift (VIIIth is ruled by Mars in the Ist). Since Venus rules the IXth, the house of religion and long travels (astral travels?), Venus probably gave good passage to a better after life for the victims.

Fate: don't board planes when the stars are ill

One of the most interesting features of the chart is the geometry of the conjunctions and oppositions. They form a yod, a rectangle, several mystic triangles and other lesser triangles. The energies of the chart are therefore contained in closed configurations and channelled towards only one objective: a fatal accident. This was also the case with the Air France, Polish and Mangalore plane crash charts, which exhibit rather regular features. In contrast, the Libya and Amsterdam plane crash charts are more untidy - there were survivors.

History of the Last Moments of the Ill-Starred Jet

The plane crashed upon landing on Margalla Hills located some short distance north from the airport in bad weather with rain and winds. The plane exploded on contact with the ground and was shattered into millions of pieces. Recovery operations have been complicated as access is difficult and restricted to helicopters and men on foot. Monsoon rains have hampered the recovery of bodies. The passenger list has been published. There are no survivors on the 146 passengers and 6 crew. Of the passengers, 110 were men, 29 were women, 5 were children, and 2 were infants. The 12 people who missed the plane on its departure (noshows) were saved. Here is the passenger list which I have saved on Google docs: Passenger list in alphabetical order.

As is usually the case, rumors are many and each news outlet is rife with them. Also, many parties are trying to assign blame even though it will take months if not years for the investigation report to be issued. Meantime, many theories are postulated.

The plane was flying very low and may have overflown a “highly sensitive” area of the city, near the president’s house and the country’s parliament, an area known as “no fly zone” because flights are not normally permitted over it. It has been said that the plane took a turn right instead of left; however, on the left there is the Dhamial military airbase and army headquarters, and these areas are restricted airspaces. One may wish to take account the fact that it flew over a densely populated city. This may (or not) have had a bearing on the crash location. On one internet forum, it is mentioned that Islamabad had on occasion suffered breaks from the GPS systems which seem to have been jammed in the past. Whether this is a factor in this accident is not known yet.

Some question the state of health of the Captain (such as this site), other internet fora talk about the staff hiring procedures or the authorities' actions in aerospace decisions. A more likely cause may have been spatial disorientation or illusions. The rumors on the Professional Pilots Forum talk of CFIT, which means "Controlled Flight Into Terrain" (Wikipedia CFIT) which is where "an airworthy aircraft, under pilot control, is unintentionally flown into the ground... The pilots are generally unaware of the danger until it is too late. According to Boeing, CFIT is a leading cause of airplane accidents involving the loss of life."

Various sources give different ages for the Pilot in Command, Captain Pervez Iqbal Chaudhry. One source, quoting Airblue, say he was "64 years, 5 months and 11 days old" which would place his dob as 17 February 1946, and another places his birthday on 27 December 2010, aged 62 or aged 65, which calculates to 1948 or 1943. He had over 30 years experience. The copilot is said to have been on his second flight with this company and aged 35 years.

    Historical Data for Astrologers Study

    • The plane was an Airbus 321 and her first flight was on 14 April 2000. Failing more precise information, the astrological charts for its first flight should be graphed for 12 noon at Toulouse (France) where the plane was built.

    • The doomed jet was delivered to Airblue on 18 January 2006. The charts for this event should be set for Islamabad, where the company headquarters are located. The airframe totalled 34000 hours and it is the 2nd loss of an Airbus A321.

    • Airblue was founded in 2003. According to the a web archive that has now disappeared (2015), its licence was granted on 23 November 2003. As a national matter, the horoscope should be drawn for Islamabad, Pakistan's capital city.

    • According to this site, Airblue, the newest airline in the private sector was finally launched officially on 20 May 2004. According to this plane spotter's site (link) a test flight was performed on 21 May 2004 but the plane used was not the one which crashed.

    • It's aim was to be a paperless airline, with all ticketing, reservations and check-ins to be carried out on the internet. Its internet reservations site was launched on 3 June 2003 with Finance Minister Shaukat Aziz inaugurating Airblue’s Islamabad Reservation Centre and headquarters by making the first official Airblue reservation using the airline’s proprietary Internet-based reservation system.

    • Airblue's inaugural flight was on 18 June 2004. Failing more precise information, the astrological charts for its inaugural flight should be graphed for 12 noon at Islamabad.

    • The plane took-off from Karachi Airport at 7.50 am or 7.42 according to various other sources (local time). It entered Islamabad Airport approach area at 9.35 am (local). Landing was delayed by ATC at 9.30 as the airport was busy. Its last contact with ATC was at 9.42 am (local) and crashed into Margallah Hills at 9.44 (local). These times need to be confirmed later when more official investigation reports are published as other credible sources mention 9.43 am as the time for the crash.

Horoscope and astrological planetary aspects of the Libya Jet Crash, Flight 8U-771, in Tripoli, 2010

For the Libyan jets that defected to Malta during the Libya Blood Rivers Revolution, please see this article on 21 February 2011: Libya Blood Rivers Revolution #1

Below are the preliminary horoscope charts for the Libya plane crash, flight Afriqiyah 8U-771, which occurred between 04h00m and 04h10m (UT) at Tripoli Airport (Libyan Arab Jamahirya) on 12 May 2010, coordinates 32°54'N and 13°11'W. Here is a pdf of the airport layout.

The plane crashed upon landing and exploded in millions of fragments. There is one survivor, a child, and 103 dead. All the information I have managed to gather is below and will be completed as and when more details become available. The passenger list has been published (if that link does not work in the future, try this one where I have copied the list.

NUPDATE: In an article published in the very serious Wall Street Journal, sources say that there was nothing wrong with the plane, that the Co-Pilot was flying, and that both became disoriented in the approach... Whenever I see an official report, I'll post the link here.

The astrology aspects occur during a generally difficult planetary period, with Mercury stationary going direct on the same day. In the general atmosphere of this month, a rather catastrophic list of aspects between Saturn take place. These are: opposition Uranus and Jupiter, quincunx Moon, Neptune, and Chiron, two Mars-Uranus and Mars-Pluto sesquisquare. In the helio chart, one notes the on-going applying Saturn-Pluto square, an applying Mars Neptune quincunx and Mars Uranus opposition. The astrological analysis will be completed a little later, when details of the airplane crash are better known. The picture on the right is reproduced with the permission of the photographer, pilot Chris Smith, at airliners.net (click for large photo), and was taken on the day after delivery to Libya, on 9 September 2009.

At any rate, the first half of this year is just not good for anything related to aircrafts and the airplane and travel industries. The astrology charts below are provisional until more details are known, so they may change in the next few days. Please take account of this before downloading.

Facts on the Libya plane crash

It is not clear whether the jet exploded on crashing, or whether it exploded before crashing. The plane was landing West to East in the rising sun amidst reduced visibility owing to a sand haze. It remains to be confirmed whether the jet was brought down when in the earth's shadow just before this sun rise. The photographs on the scene of this crash show mostly very small pieces, which would either confirm a high vertical velocity - if the plane exploded on impact - or a very unusual attitude. It may be that the pilots suffered from spatial disorientation plus the haze plus the sun glare (whiteout). References are here: (1) FAA; (2) Air Safety Foundation; (3) Wikipedia.

Astrology - Google Image of Libya where A8771 crashed 2010
Remarks by professionals on various forums on the Internet are critical of the state of the runway and of the standards of air traffic control. It is not yet known whether this played a role in this tragedy and whether the pilots encountered some problem or made an error. It is understood that the Libyan Civil Aviation Authorities had been warned about poor standards, although this would be subject to proper verification, as various Internet sources are contradictory on this subject. The airport facilities were not as modern as in some countries. The weather was good but hazy. The plane crashed 900 meters from runway number 09. This is the 4th plane crash at Tripoli airport.

Here are the records of the previous crashes in Tripoli, kept by Aviation Safety Network:

1989 - ASN Aircraft accident McDonnell Douglas DC-10-30 HL7328 Tripoli
1971 - ASN Aircraft accident de Havilland DH-106 Comet 4C SU-ALC Tripoli International Airport (TIP)
1970 - ASN Aircraft accident Tupolev 104A OK-NDD Tripoli

The aircraft was en route from Johannesburg in South Africa to Tripoli (Libya) and, according to this news source, it departed on 11 May 2010 at 19h37m UT. Many passengers had onward bookings for European destinations. Among them there were 62 Dutch people, a group of 38 who had gone on holidays from Düsseldof (Germany), and another of 24 from Brussels (Belgium). There is one 8 year-old Dutch child who survived; all other 103 passengers and crew, out of 104, have perished.

Facts on the plane and Afriqiyah Airways

The plane was an Airbus A330-200 registered 5A-ONG, msn 1024. According to Astro-Transport-Data-Bank, the almost brand new aircraft had 1,600 hours of flight, with 420 cycles. The French airbus company have promised full help in the forthcoming investigation.

First Flight or Maiden Flight of 5A-ONG - Geocentric and heliocentric charts

According to Aviation-Safety.net, its first (maiden) flight was on 12 August 2009 (in Toulouse, France). However, on Airliners.Net, there is a photograph of this plane on 29 May 2009. Officially, according to this official database, Airfleets.net, her maiden flight was definitely on 12 August 2009. Unfortunately, I have no time and no location, though I suspect it took place in Toulouse (France). As in the case of the AF447 plane, I have decided to draw the charts for 12 noon. The first reason is that it's tradition, the second reason is that as a commercial plane, the time of 12 noon would put the Sun somewhere near the Midheaven, in IX, X or XIth houses, which is appropriate for a commercial plane. That said, the angles and the Moon could be well off, so interpretation of the charts need to concentrate on the other points. Click on the charts below to view them in a large window.

On the geocentric side, it's immediately apparent that something will go wrong with this plane. Mars is exactly square Saturn, so tragedy would strike it at some point.
The extent to which a tragedy is shown in the chart is indicated by: the treble conjunction of Jupiter, Neptune and Chiron, the nodes across the IV/X axis, Mercury conjunct Sappho, Sun square the Accursed Degree of the Accursed Sign... Pluto is conjunct Fixed Star Speculum, which is an unusual one, and malefic at that. The Moon, angular in VIIth in Taurus, is contraparallel Pluto, in Capricorn in IIIrd, the Moon being in mutual reception with Venus. A beautiful object costing a lot of money (in more ways than one, because that crash will prove very costly to the airline).

Although Mars, in Gemini in IX, is applying to the trine of the treble conjunction of Jupiter, Neptune and Chiron in Aquarius, it's also, at the same time, applying to a square to Uranus in Pisces in the VIth. So this is a plane that looks good, full of energy (Mars), famous (Jupiter), which represents ideals (Neptune), it's also unstable and untidy in its movements (Gemini), prone to "nerves" (square to Uranus - electric problems?), with precipitation in action (going too fast, or reacting too fast). Ten degrees later, Mars will come to the opposition of Pluto (this plane crashed 10 months after its maiden flight).

The astrology chart is also full of minor aspects (not shown because it clutters the drawing). There are numerous quincunxes showing hesitation or lack of proper direction. Mercury is parallel Saturn at the same time as both are widely conjunct, in Virgo. So dignified Mercury holds dominion over Saturn and over Mars and Sappho. This certainly means the crews piloting this particular plane would generally be suitably qualified and old enough to make appropriate decisions.

Since it does not look like there is a "factory" defect in the plane, any future mishap would have to be provoked by other planets than Saturn or Mercury. This could happen with only two possibilities,
  • (1) exterior factors; or
  • (2) factors involving the crew without it being their fault.
Among those factors, one needs to look at Neptune, Jupiter, Uranus, Pluto. Neptune: fog, haze, optical illusions. Jupiter: overconfidence/over-reliance in technical equipment. Uranus: electrical problems. Pluto: something destructive. Lack of maintenance of the owner, lack of maintenance of the home of the owner (airport) is a very small possibility, not likely in my mind, because ruler of IVth is Saturn, which although debilitated in Virgo, is completely slave to a strong Mercury, so this is really a negligible possibility (but I could be wrong, since the time of the maiden flight is not known).

There's also a strange combination of fixed stars over Mercury, Sappho and Saturn, and the opposition to Uranus: Avior (Epsilon (ε) Carina in Argo Navis) and Delta Velorum (the sails in that same constellation). In a way, one could almost read the "sails" as the "wings" of this (air) ship. Anne Wright, in the articles on these stars, quoting Manilius and others, says that this can also mean "sign, flag", which would be appropriate to this plane, as it was one of the flagships of the fleet. Libya was a very active partner of the African Union and had painted its birth date on the fin of the planes (the most visible sign/flag). And the wings have been clipped (Mars) from air to earth (Saturn: earth, Mercury: earth and air). As for the whole constellation of the Argos Navis. I'll quote this author, but I strongly suggest you read the three articles in those links.
"Whoever is born on earth at the rising of Argo will be the captain of a ship; holding fast to his helm, he will forsake dry land for the sea and pursue his fortune with the winds; he will crave to traverse the entire ocean with his fleet, visit foreign climes and the deep Phasis, and better the speed of Tiphys towards the rocks (the Symplegades)....
The Libyan Afriqia Airways company was founded with the aim of beating low-cost airlines at their own game, at the same time as reinstating the Libya as an African influence of importance. Mercury and Saturn in Virgo are the epitome of "low cost". Looks like Saturn cut short this aim and Mars punctured a big balloon.

As for heliocentric aspects, if anything, they are worse and possibly the final clue to the end of this plane. Sappho, conjunct to Saturn, is opposite Uranus, and it's exact within a day. Sedna is opposed Mercury. Fixed star Avior is exactly conjunct Saturn. Mercury, just past a square to Earth, applies to the square of Jupiter, Neptune and Chiron.

The whole configuration makes a tremendously powerful T-square, which is not balanced by much good, since the same quadruple conjunction is also quincunx Saturn. It also forms two mystical triangles if one counts Ceres in the configurations (square + quincunx + trine). These minor planets really ought to be the subject of some in-depth research. Venus and Mars are attacked by Pluto, there's a Yod with Eris at the apex and Mercury and Saturn on the other sides. In the parallels of declination, between some very tight orbs and some less so, there's Earth, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Uranus, Juno and Vesta contacting each other. Too fast (Mars), too untidy (Uranus), too confident (Jupiter), too technical (Uranus), too much in a hurry to get home (Juno and Vesta), all meeting Earth... Not much good all that!

Plane delivery to Afriqiya Airways - Geocentric and heliocentric astrology charts

The possible confusion on dates exists for the delivery of the plane, with one photo on 8 September 2009 and another on the day after. It's symbolically important when that plane was delivered, as it bears the livery of the date of the birth of the African Union, on 9 September 1999. The plane, an Airbus A330, was supposed to have been delivered on the 10th commemoration of this important date. In fact, the aircraft was delivered in Tripoli Airport on 8 September 2009 and it was expected to land at about 16h00 local time (GMT +2). I have been unable to find a more accurate time than that. The charts for the jet's arrival are below, click on them to see the big screen charts.

One would quickly note that on the day the plane arrived in Libya, on the geocentric chart, Saturn is applying to the opposition of Uranus ("breaking an aircraft"), involving houses VIII, IX, and II/III ("death in travel"). Curiously, Moon is at ease, angular in the IVth in Taurus. Well, one could say the plane was "going home"... which it was also on the day of the crash.

The chart, from the point of view of major aspects is "average bad" because of the heavies, but the lighter planets are not much in emphasis in a bad way. However, the minor aspects are numerous and support my theory that such an abundance is probably not a good thing. At any rate, that new plane does not look like it suffered from any major technical fault - this would involve Mercury, Mars and Saturn, but it is not the case, particularly as Mercury and Saturn are in mutual reception. Note that if the time of landing is about right, we have some fixed stars on the ASC/DSC axis, Vega and Sirius, respectively, with Miaplacidus on the MC, but they are fortunate here. Perhaps this is what helped the little boy who survived.

The annoying little asteroids are playing up as well with Sappho opposed to Uranus, Juno smack on top of the cusp of III and square Pluto, Lilith conjunct the North Node Rahu.

The declinational aspects are few but interesting: Moon parallel Venus, and both contraparallel Pluto and Jupiter. Something big, emotional, destructive, and costing a lot of money. It certainly is the case that the plane was beautifully decorated (Venus), awakened emotions (African Unity symbol), political power (Pluto and Jupiter, perhaps not in the best way). Mars is almost out of bounds in Cancer, the child - Cancer/Moon) was thrown out (Mars "Out)? And one finds again a minor planet, Sappho, parallel Uranus.

On the heliocentric chart, the Saturn opposition to Uranus was exact the day before, Earth is applying by 9° to Uranus (9 months left to live???), Saturn is quincunx both Jupiter and Neptune. There's pesky little Juno which is conjunct to Uranus (see my remarks about these minor planets in the previous posts. They always seem to show up somewhere significant in disasters). Venus and Mars are on critical degrees and connecting to Pluto. Jupiter and Uranus are parallel in the latitudes, with Venus contraparallel them both. Pluto and Sappho are contraparallel.

So, from the above chart, one could have said, in anticipation, that there would be some problems with this plane. Whether one could have predicted the crash is perhaps best seen in conjunction with the other charts concerning this accident.

to view the different photos of the plane. If I get permission from the authors of these photographs, I'll put up the pictures themselves on this blog.

Afriqiyah Airways was founded in April 2001 and reorganised in 2007; it is owned by the Libyan Government. It started scheduled services on 1st December 2001. It has Airbus planes only. The average age of the fleet is 5 years.

Was the Icelandic volcanic ash to blame?

It is not known either if the volcanic ash plume from Iceland played a role or not. The volcano dust maps for yesterday and today did indicate that North Africa was at risk of volcanic ashes. I have dug out the ash maps from London VAAG from my computer but these do not show any significant amount of volcanic ash near Libya. After a second look at my sources, I cannot find a trace of volcanic ashes around Tripoli for that date and time.

I have other satellite photographs which show sand dust which would explain the haze described in the news articles, but these are usual conditions for this time of the year. Here is a satellite picture of sand over Eastern Libya, I did not find one for Western Libya where Tripoli is situated.

Astrology Horoscope Geocentric and heliocentric charts of the plane crash

I have set the chart for 04h05 GMT (06h05 local) because the time is not yet known with accuracy. Reading the article on the Internet makes me think it might have happened before sunrise, a few minutes before 04h00.

There was an Alitalia plane, flight AZ871, waiting for take-off and the crew saw the crash. According to the links provided, this Italian aircraft departed at 05h50 local (03h50 GMT). There were also planes waiting to land behind it, of which one of them also saw the tragedy. You might need to register with this site to see the full history of the landings and taking-offs of the planes (it's free, and there's no virus or spam associated with this site, I checked).

At first glance, if the plane crashed at around 04h00 GMT, the rising sign was in Taurus. Moon, in the last degrees of Aries in the XIIth was in a Yod with Saturn and Neptune. Mercury, which was just becoming direct again, was also in Taurus in the XIIth, in a trine to Pluto and a semi-square to Venus.
Note this: Mercury in Taurus and Venus in Gemini are in mutual reception and linked by a semi-square. Air (ME) in the ground (TAU) against ground (VE) in the air (GEM). Both planets being rulers of earth and air signs and badly linked.

When examining disaster, one tends to look at the heavy planets first, but in this chart, you also need to look at innocuous "inferior" planets and remember they were both considered major in the Babylonian times and were supposed to wreak terrible events when badly placed in the sky. I think that's what happened here, these two were major contributors. Not only was the sun rising, or just before or just after, which may have caused temporary blindness with the pilots (even though Pleiades is not emphasised), but Moon was becoming a New Moon, and Mercury would have been visible in the sky with naked eyes, if the mist or desert sand dust was not too strong. And at the time of the crash, Jupiter also would have been very visible if there had not been any fog.

This question of weather at the time of the crash is a vexing one, because METARS (the meteorological maps for aircrafts) mentioned good, hazy with diminishing visibility by the minute. So, depending on the exact time of the crash, the crew either had extremely good, or very bad, weather. For 0400Z (i.e. GMT) as is the time declared by the authorities, Mars was exactly square the ASC, angular in the IVth and ruler of the Moon. The descent would have been too fast and the reaction of the crew to rectify the situation would also have been (emotional - Moon) too fast (Mars). Saturn and Uranus are opposed almost exactly, while Uranus is in a critical degree.

The role played by ATC (air traffic controllers) would be shown by Mercury and, possibly, by Saturn (control). Strongly malefic Mercury rules Saturn in Virgo in the Vth, which house may be partly ruled by a rising Sun (depending on the time). Looks like some rumors on some pilots' forum are not too far from the astrological truth. ATC would have been debilitated with these planets. With respect to technical difficulties with the plane itself, one should look again at Mercury, and possibly Uranus. There's a sesquisquare between Uranus and Mars, no relation between Mercury and Uranus, Uranus is opposite Saturn and is ruled by strongly benefic Jupiter. A technical defect of the plane looks like it can be ruled out. However, the planets are not that strong and it maybe that the attempts to correct the plane's course may have surprised the pilots or the plane's reaction to commands was unexpected to the crew.

The placement of Pluto is ambiguous. It has a number of rather bad minor aspects with rather unpleasant minor planets, and a good trine to Mercury. In Capricorn in VIIIth it's ruled by a debilitated Saturn and secondarily by a rogue and strong Mars. This would to some extent explain the fragmentation of the plane into millions of unrecognizable pieces, save the tail fin and parts of the wheels and wings. Thinking aloud... fragmentation as in... as some people may have thought. The authorities were quite prompt to dismiss such a possibility and frankly, the chart is not that bad that it would indicate third parties tampering with this plane. This is despite the contraparallel of declination between Sun and Pluto.

There is a possibility that Neptune throws a mantle of illusion and deception with respect to what really happened, but this should not last long (Sun in XIIth). In this particular chart, it does look like the authorities are going to be very keen to demonstrate what happened, perhaps after some initial resistance from some quarters. This is because Neptune has very few links to the XIIth of hidden processes, also because Jupiter which is very benefic in this chart rules the VIIIth of death and secrecy. Finally, Pluto is slave to Saturn in Virgo, Saturn ruling the IXth, and it will demand the truth (which will come from abroad - IXth) at any cost (Mercury-Saturn-Virgo links). Besides, Mercury and Lilith in contraparallel will make it so that speculations will need to be quashed if this airline is to recover.

Turning to the heliocentric chart, see that Venus in Leo is strongly angular in IVth, if one take account of the angles in heliocentric astrology, and it also rules the ASC. There's something of a theme repeated there, haste to get home, and a child (Leo) who survives. It's exactly quincunx Pluto in Capricorn within minutes during the flight and that is telling. Something big, powerful, nasty, destroyed (Pluto) the beauty of home (Venus). It struck its belly first (Venus IVth).

To be continued....

Victims of Air France Airbus Plane Crash Flight AF447 - 1

Horoscope Astrology of an Airplane Crash Victim

The French airplane crash , Air France Flight 447, in June 2009 counted a number of famous passengers, some of whose birth dates are publicly available on the Internet. One of these plane crash casualties was Prince Pedro Luís of Orléans-Braganza born on 12 January 1983 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He was due to become the pretender to the former imperial crown of Brazil.

Prince Pedro's birth chart contains an accumulation of astrological aspects which may have aroused the suspicion of an astrologer as to the risks he was taking while travelling. Each of these aspects taken individually would be innocent enough but all together they did portend the possibility that fate would hand a tragedy while on a trip. As a member of a royal family, there is no doubt that his life involved a more than your average number of travels. If he had benefitted from astrological counsel prior to boarding the flight, the planetary transits would have had any good astrologer say to avoid flying on this particular date when the jet crashed.

Although it is difficult to forecast the exact date and time of any air plane crash, it is possible to find out risky days in an individual birth chart. No astrologer worthy of this name would have taken a flight on a day when transiting aspects were really bad on one's own chart.

The charts for this unfortunate event are below. Orbs are tight at 3°00' or much less, although some consideration has been given to the general atmosphere of the charts with wider orbs. Time of birth is unknown and the chart is set up for noon, as per custom. Considering this chart is about the heir to the throne of Brazil, one may surmise that a noon chart, placing the MC near the Sun could be appropriate for a general delineation of the houses.

Radical aspects which show the possibility of travel accidents

In the natal geocentric aspects, one finds an applying retrograde Mercury conjunct Pluto - literally travel to death or death in travel, Mercury being placed in the last critical degree of Capricorn.

The Sun conjunct Lilith show an introspective young man, who might some day have made inadequate choices (perhaps in the choice of flying dates) because of occasional overwhelming feelings of melancholy or depression. These aspects are exact during the day of birth.

A semi-square from Sun to Uranus may have given him already some taste of unpleasantness with respect to flying - delays, turbulent weather, flying during difficult times or, simply, distasteful fellow passengers. In the separating aspects, one finds Moon conjunct Ketu, the South Node, which is a sign of something unusual (and bad) to happen at some point in life. The Uranus Lilith semi-square only reinforces the impulsiveness of making decisions when emotionally unwell. Such a decision could have been to fly on such a day.

If one accepts that the noon chart may reveal significant house positions, then it immediately strikes the eye that Jupiter and Uranus - very widely conjunct - are posited in the VIIIth. Uranus rules aircraft and Jupiter rules big things/events. Jupiter rules the IXth of far-away travel, and is second ruler of the XIIth, hidden sorrows and suffering. Uranus rules the XIth, and is also a secondary master of the Xth (the destiny) after Saturn.

As for Pluto and Saturn, they are widely conjunct and occupy the VIIth. And the VIIth is not only one's spouse or known ennemy, it's also the house of those that give counsel to the native. Stretching this a little, one could see an older pilot in the VIIth. If one takes this view, Saturn which had been exalted in Libra, had barely arrived in Scorpio and became very debilitated, so any VIIth house person would have been of poor advice in the Prince's life - including if this person had been a pilot. With Mercury exactly square Pluto from the Xth, a number of times the native must have been given bad advice, particularly when it came to travel, communications, papers, administration. This aspect would have given him a capacity to think strategically, but not the ability to always act on his conclusions, especially since Mercury was retrograde.

The conjunction of the Moon, IVth house ruler of the "end-of-the-matter", to the South Node happens across the IIIrd-IXth house axis. Neptune is posited in the IXth in Sagittarius, certainly not the best placement for travel, although it may show merciful unconsciousness of the crash happening. This young man was unlikely to ever benefit from long trips across the seas. Mars, ruler of the Ascendant, is on the cusp (Regiomontanus) of the Xth and XIth, showing dashing friends from work and possibly he was a man who liked to protect others around him. Mars is, however, in Aquarius, which although it gives lofty friendship ideas, is not its best placement. Mars is in the "aircraft" scene there, ruled by a debilitated Uranus in VIIIth and secondarily ruled by Saturn (by sign). In addition to which these two are in mutual reception - between malefics...

On the declinations level, Moon is out-of-bounds and therefore liable to give sudden decisions or changes in opinions, emotions unruled also. Moon is parallel Neptune, and not far from a parallel to Uranus. Both these would have given him some intuition but, as above, not necessarily the ability to use it. Jupiter is widely parallel Uranus, "something big to do with planes". Mars is widely contraparallel to Chiron, giving enduring energy and charm, but also energetic action without due thought. Jupiter is contraparallel to both Mercury and Venus. This would one the one hand give him fortune and some amount of luck with financial matters and, generally, an easy character to get along despite his occasional bouts of sadness or internal worries. He liked travelling despite all the constraints he must have experienced in his trips. The kind Jupiter-Mercury-Venus aspects may also have given him peace in his last moments and he is unlikely to have suffered during the crash.

Turning to the heliocentric chart, one sees some rather dark aspects: a yod between Saturn and Neptune with Chiron at the apex, with Jupiter in opposition to the latter. An almost exact Saturn conjunct Pluto; Earth is sesqui-square Uranus. Mercury is quincunx Uranus. In the parallels of latitude, the picture is worrisome: Mars is contraparallel Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. Saturn is contraparallel both Venus and Chiron, which may explain why he did not marry despite the charm he exhibited and the financial means at his disposal.

Jupiter, Uranus and Neptune are parallel the Earth, indicating that he would make a mark on his world - or that something worldly would mark him. Which this plane accident did, considering how this crash event shocked even the most seasoned people, being talked about for months, and, to this day, being a complete mystery.

Transits on the day of AF447 plane crash

On that fated day, Prince Pedro was having a series of bad transits. On the early morning of the flight, transiting Mars in the very last critical degree of Aries was exact to the opposition of his Pluto. If only that, any astrologer should have told him to stay home. This might not have avoided an accident altogether, but might have mitigated it.

There was worse. This very transiting Mars, extremely strong in its Aries sign, but malefic on the last degree, was also squaring his natal retrograde Mercury in Capricorn. Both these aspects would have happened every 2 1/2 years, but considering the natal chart, he should have been counselled not to make any dangerous trip on such days.
Even worse, since the middle of May 2009, he was experiencing a trail of a treble transit to the conjunction of his radical Mars: the works of Jupiter, Neptune and Chiron. Though Jupiter and Chiron are beneficial planets, they are debilitated in Aquarius and cannot bring any luck to the radical Mars which is particularly unsettled in its native environment. To top it all, Mars made an exact contraparallel to Saturn on the day he took the plane. Mars has decidedly not been an ally on Prince Pedro's chart as it was also receiving a parallel from Neptune and Jupiter, as well as a contraparellel from Mercury.

Transiting Pluto was no better with parallels to Mercury and Venus - if he hadn't travelled that day, he might have harnessed the more pleasant sides of these two aspects, but it was not to be. Transiting Sun was contraparallel to his Neptune on the day after the jet crash. As for the North Node, it was transiting to the parallel to Mercury, Venus, Sun, Jupiter and Uranus - when ancient astrology talks about fate being connected to the Node, there's an example!

Transiting Mercury in Taurus had just finished, that very day, its retrogradation, almost exactly conjunct his radical Chiron, so no help from this either. The sesquisquare from Saturn to Mercury was separating and had been an influence for the last 7-8 months, imparting some debility in judging situations clearly as well as inconvenience either for travel or for studies. Transiting Rahu, the North Node, was applying to the retrograde Mercury. Pluto was in the vicinity of the Moon-Ketu conjunction, but not yet exact.

There were other disturbing aspects, but they were not exact and occured either in the past or in the future, only depicting some difficult years with respect to what he wanted to do as a career and for his studies. The transiting Moon had, earlier in the day, conjuncted Saturn. Never, ever, start something the day the Moon is in the same sign as Saturn! Thankfully, the Moon finally made a grand Earth trine with the Sun-Lilith conjunction and Chiron, becoming exact with Lilith at 02h21m and Chiron at 02h26m37s on 1 June 2009, a few minutes after the last message was received by Air France Technical Operations. This would certainly have contributed to a peaceful end and though it did not save his life, at least he did not suffer. And this is shown by the other various and kind aspects elsewhere in the charts.

The heliocentric chart of the plane crash together with Prince Pedro's chart do show some aspects of extreme significance, surrounded by generally difficult conditions and lack of luck illustrated with a Saturn almost exact sextile to the Earth. Any Saturn aspect could not have brought any good, even in a sextile configuration. Saturn was also applying to the opposition of radical Mars. Chiron and Neptune were applying to the square of radical Jupiter.

Transiting Venus is prominent with an opposition to Earth and a semi-square to Uranus on the day before and after the crash. Transiting Mercury had just joined transiting Pluto, and both were aspecting radical Mercury with a separating opposition. Finally, if one looks at the possible timing in the chart, one finds a very telling transiting Mercury semi-sextile Uranus becoming exact at 01h54m GMT on 1 June 2009, minutes before the crash. In and of themselves, the individual aspects are fairly innocuous, until you consider the sum total of the malefict planetary patterns.

The parallels of latitude show a desperate picture:
Applying:  Mars contraparallel Neptune, Mars contraparallel Jupiter, Jupiter contraparallel Jupiter, Jupiter contraparallel Neptune, Saturn parallel Saturn, Earth parallel Uranus
Separating, but not by far: Mars parallel Mars, Mercury contraparallel Mercury,  Uranus contraparallel Neptune, Neptune contraparallel Uranus and the Earth.

Astrology and horoscopes - Is there free will or are we fated?

After such an analysis, one can only become convinced that the amount of fate in a person's life is considerable, though perhaps not a 100%. To see fate at work, one might want to study Prince Pedro's father chart. Tragedy is patently obvious in his charts. The data is 24 June 1950 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, no birth time published

Please be respectful of these people when you analyse the charts, there has been enough suffering already. Thank you.

Astrology Aspects - Air France AF447 Plane Crash - Data 2

Recap of the data concerning the tragedy of the Air France AF447 airplane crash:

I have written three lengthy posts about the astrology of this plane crash. The data that is useful for astrology analysis is spread out in the previous three posts, which are also full of astrology charts. For ease of reference, I am posting below the astrological data for this aircraft accident. When you surf the Internet for information on this tragedy, please pay particular attention to the degrees given. Some are in sexagesimal degrees, others in decimal degrees; also, many media tend to round them off. Even Google maps is not fantastically accurate, short of spending several hours fine-tuning. In the list of links to my blog, there's a few accurate tools for degrees and distance conversions and calculations of great circles.

The post below has three sections:

1. FLIGHT REFERENCES FOR THE CRASH
