Preliminary information for a plane crash at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport today 25 February 2009 at approximately 10.31 am CET Latitude: 52° 18' 31" N (deg min sec), 52.3086° (decimal), Longitude: 4° 45' 50" E (deg min sec), 4.7639° (decimal), more details to come soon, watch this space.
As for the exact reasons of the crash, they are still unknown. Possible explanations are engine failure and/or turbulence. The turbulence theory is interesting in view of the chart for a crash timed at 10.31 - the window of time concerning this is about 1 to 3 minutes previous to the crash. This latter explanation also involved misunderstood or undelivered instructions by the control tower. It is expected that further information on initial findings will be provided by tomorrow 4 March 2009.
For a chart drawn at the same latitude and longitude, but an earlier time of 10h28m10s, that is 1 minute and 50 seconds previous to the alleged time of the crash, the MidHeaven is located at exactly 0° Aquarius. Now, one can obviously debate the accuracy of such times, the fact that it must have taken a few seconds for the plane to break apart and the rounding off errors of software; yet this is intriguing.
UPDATED on 3 May 2010
The preliminary report of the investigation of the crash has been published as well as a press release describing the facts in brief. According to this report, the crash occurred at 10h26m, remarkably close to the time I had first guessed at. This places the MC at 29°29' Capricorn, the ASC at 3°05 Gemini, Fortuna at 6°54 Gemini. It places a quincunx between Pluto and ASC exact at...10h25m29s. This is also remarkable! It actually saved most of the passengers. The sesquiquadrate between Moon and Vertex is also exact at 10h25m56s and the square from Sun to Fortuna is exact at 10h26m02s. I hope that when the final report is produced, we will obtain times exact to the second and I would not be surprised to find out that the chart should be rectified accordingly to a few seconds before 10h26m!
