Horoscope Astrology Charts of the October 2010 Baja California, Mexico, 7.2 mag Earthquake, located near Culiacan, Los Mochis and Sinaloa, at sea in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico - At the time of writing, some 45 minutes after the quake, there appears to be no damage or injuries. The quake was shallow and provoked waves but no tsunami - Preliminary Information

There was report of damage in Los Mochis and Sinaloa, but nothing outstanding from what I can gather.

It's one of the Full Moon Earthquakes!



Data - 21 October 2010 - 11h53m20s local, 17h53m20s UT 24°57'36"N - 109°05'59"W - AS 27°52' Sagittarius, orbs in the charts are 3° or less.

It looks like this earthquake is not the big one (neither was the April earthquake in this region. If it weren't for the fact that Pluto and the Node are rising, that the ASC is exactly square Uranus, and that Saturn features prominently at the MidHeaven, the chart would not be so bad. In the end, the earthquake was a non-event, thankfully.

There have been a number of small earthquakes in this region in the last few days. The Full Moon will happen in the next few hours. If nothing more happens in the next three days, this region will probably go back to quiet times for a while. Meantime, if I were living in that area, I'd be very careful in the next few days as there could be strong aftershocks.

Ironically, on that very same day, not very far geographically, a shake drill was conducted in San Diego, California, USA, at 10.21 am.

Datos - 21 de octubre de 2010 - 11h53m20s local, 17h53m20s UT 24°57'36" N - 109°05'59"W - ASC 27°52' Sagitario, esferas en las cartas son de 3 ° o menos.

Parece que este terremoto no es el grande (así mismo que no fue el terremoto de abril en esta región). Si no fuera por el hecho de que Plutón y el Nodo están elevandos al horizonte, que la ASC está en cuadratura exacta de Urano, y que Saturno ocupa un lugar destacado en el Medio Cielo, el gráfico no sería tan malo. Gracias a las planetas, no había ningún daño.

Irónicamente, en ese mismo día, no muy lejos geográficamente, un simulacro de sismo se llevó a cabo en San Diego, California, EE.UU., a las 10.21 horas.

It's the Easter Earthquake!

Data - 22h40m30s UT 32°38'N - 115°04'W - AS 3°02 Vir, orbs in the charts are 1° or less.

It looks like as if this earthquake is not the big one. There has been some amount of material damage but few lives lost. The chart is actually not too bad.

Roads and Electrics

You can almost *see* power lines crashing into buildings with void-of-course Moon on the cusp of IV (buildings) and V in Sagittarius (tall poles) squaring Uranus (electric wires) on the cusp of VII and VIII (it's going to cost to repair!).

Government Role

Some government departments will be *crying* (Weeping Sisters on X) not being able to communicate (Gemini) and be criticized for lack of communication. The square between Mercury (communications) and Mars (brutal breaks) emphasizes this. The latter may also have to do with damaged roads leading to/from the United States (Mercury in IX in Aries - wanting to speed forward to foreign lands, Mars in XI friends and children (Leo), square = cannot communicate). Beneficial Watcher of the South, the Fomalhaut fixed star, being very angular in VIIth looks like a protective influence.

Buildings and Houses

As for every earthquake, Saturn is somewhere to be noticed. Here, it's within 47 seconds of arc of the exact trine to the MidHeaven from the cusp of the IInd and exalted in Libra. Houses that were built with solid materials resisted well. As in all earthquakes, houses built with shoddy materials (Moon square Uranus) will have damage and will also be those not well covered by insurance (Uranus in VIIIth - other people's money with defects). Venus, the ruler of Saturn, is also dignified in Taurus. All the Venus-Mars square did was probably interrupting some lovers' frolicking (smile) - friends (XIth) that shouldn't have been in bed together in the first place! Those influenced by fiery passion (Venus trine Pluto) probably had some good time through the quake though!

Swimming Pool Tsunamis

Some media titles emphasized the swimming pool tsunamis - which I must say is a first I see in the context of an earthquake (Mercury semi-square Jupiter). That could well be due to Uranus shaking the Pisces Neptunian water from the cusp of VII and VIII and with Neptune angular from the VIth to the VIIth. I'd wager swimming pools close to the epicenter will experience electric faults in pumps but the damage does not look great considering Jupiter's protective influence, exalted in Pisces and well angular in VIIth, and the mutual reception between Uranus and Neptune. Actually, those with good insurance policies but resisting agents might want to threaten to sue to get their money for repairs, as Jupiter is so strong, they are likely to win over the insurer. Pluto in Capricorn trine Fortuna from late IV early V to IX in Taurus shows many people will have family and children in the United States helping them cope and pay for the damage.

So, not the Big One (thankfully)!

All in all, a non-event... except for those who had to suffer extensive damage to their homes and for whom I am deeply sorry. However, this earthquake is simply not on the level of the Haiti Earthquake. In comparison, in the Mexicali/Baja California Earthquake, the barbecue sausages jumped onto the lawn, but in Haiti, the lawn jumped on them!
