Libya Rivers of Blood Revolts #2

Libya's horoscope is very afflicted. Yesterday, I was still hoping that some higher will (or power or spirit) would bring some reason to Gaddafi. This afternoon's speech he gave leaves absolutely no doubt about his thirst for blood and revenge. He will kill every Libyan in his way. The combined influence of the planets, particularly Saturn, Uranus and Pluto will break this country.

The worst of it is that Libya's astrological chart does contain some good aspects at the moment. Since those will not erase the bad ones but act concurrently, it can only mean the bloodshed will be protracted. The Libyan people do not have arms, guns or weapons, but they are brave and have now been placed in the position of being slaughtered while the rest of the world talks.

When I looked at Gaddafi's astro chart yesterday, I could see some good planetary aspects as well and wondered whether he might manage to keep power, at least for a time. On second analysis, he probably will fall, but when is the word. This was also the case with Mubarak, he had some good aspects and that made him last a few weeks longer than Ben Ali. Mubarak did manage to round up enough grey cells to go away before it was too late. Libya's fight will, most probably, only end when Gaddaffi is dead.

He just won't be rid of easily because other nations fear for their oil supply and are scared witless with potential immigration problems. Investment of other nations in Libya amount to billions of dollars. Countries are hesitating about which way is the best to keep as much of that money as possible - not intervening, or sending a few heavily ladden aircrafts to bomb his tent. Mistake it not, governments abroad can chant all they want, but acting directly in the Libyan revolution is probably out of the question. Looking at it their way - what are a few hundred or thousands dead to governments which have so much money, and their own stability, at stake?

Gaddafi may rant like a mad man, but these facts, as a Gemini, he's learnt well over the years of embargo. In some ways this taught him to be even more cunning. Just as I am writing, I learn that Nicaragua's President Ortega has telephoned Gaddafi to express the support of Nicaragua to his cause and a united Libya... Well, I guess if Gaddafi needs an exile home, he'll know where to go, despite his fear of flying over water...

The other night, we heard Gaddafi's son promise rivers of blood. Today, the father confirmed that he would use any violence and crime to stay in power, and that this son would carry out his orders.

Today, 22nd February 2011, the most horrible nightmare is unfolding. Gaddafi is now carrying out his promises.

Below are some of the charts I promised yesterday, but it is late tonight, so I'll try and write comments on them tomorrow night.

Gaddafi's horoscopes are on the previous astrology article on Libya, there (geo chart, helio chart). Be careful with this data, because it's dirty data. His son's charts are also on that article, (geo chart, helio chart).

Notice the movement of Mercury, from the start to the end of the speech. First it's exactly in conjunction with Mars, and Mars in a tight conjunction with Neptune. Mercury, during the speech, applies to Neptune. As Saif Gaddafi was speaking, protesters started throwing shoes at the TV screen, but also that shooting started again before the end of the speech. Mercury was bringing Mars' strength to Neptune - (astro term for this is translation of light). In effect, it's a triple conjunction.

During the horrible hours that followed, fighting intensified, and finally, Gaddafi (the father), promised not just "rivers of blood" as his son had, but to torch every house of the "drug addicts", the "youth", the "thugs" that were inciting the people to riot. Drugs=Neptune. Youth=Mercury. Thugs=Mars.

TO BE CONTINUED... I'm too tired tonight, but I'll be adding to this article tomorrow with some more comments on this article and I'll provide the charts for the exact time of landing of the military jets in Malta, and more.

Libya Rivers of Blood Revolts #1

The astrology of the Libya Revolution is terrible. The stellium of planets in Aquarius, which formed in the last 2-3 days, has been the harbinger of the violence experienced by the people of Libya at the murderous hands of their treacherous leader.

Tunisia and Egypt were lucky to have leaders that understood quickly enough that their time was at an end. The horoscopes of Ben Ali and Mubarak, although pretty bad, were not as horrible as that of Gaddafi's natal chart, or his son's who, from last night, took an active role in the repression. Particularly in regard to the interaction between the national charts and their leaders. In Bahrain, we are still expectant of what could happen, although the King has decided not to use violence against protesters (to date... and how long for?).

Unfortunately for the Libyan people, their country leader may not be so intelligent and this sorry state of things is cumulated with bad stars.

If you have been following this blog closely, you have noticed that events happening in Libya were so fast that I had to put news on top of my template instead of posts, in order to give you the news of the Libya Revolution quickly. If you want more news of the revolts in the Middle East and North Africa, in one place rather than all over the Internet, I've created a News Section on Google. Please feel welcomed to use it (free), you can add it to your own personalised page on Google news.

Today, 21st February 2011, the unthinkable has happened. After 5 days of violence, more than 200 dead and 100s injured, Gaddafi's son promised last night that:

...the government would not yield to the people's will. He promised rivers of blood, said the army would bring order by any means and would destroy all elements of sedition...
All day, snipers, thugs, mercenaries have been firing at the people. There are reports that military jets are firing in the crowds, bodies are piling up on the streets. This afternoon, two fully-armed military Libyan jets pilots defected and landed in Malta where they sought asylum, as well as 2 civilian helicopters with 7 people. The pilots of the Mirage were senior colonels in the Libyan army and  were ordered to bomb Benghazi which had been liberated last night. They decided to refuse their orders as they were 500 feet from their targets, seeing the human beings below who could be their sons or their cousins, and turned their jets towards Malta. Today, a number of Libyan ambassadors have resigned - 9 of them at the time of writing.

Below are the charts and some short analysis of the events of the last few days.

First, Gaddafi's horoscope. Various sources give two dates for his birth and I was unable to ascertain which is right: either 1st or 7th June 1942. At any rate, he was born in a very poor family in Syrte, Libya, where it is unlikely that, in those days, birth registrations, if there were any, had any accuracy. I'll take 7 June 1942 which seems to be in agreement with most sources - consider it dirty data - pun intended. Chart is timed for 12 noon, as per tradition when birth time is unknown, therefore axes and Moon could be wildly off.

Muammar Abu Minyar al-Gaddafi, born 7 June 1942 in Syrt, Italian Libya. 12 noon. Date may be inaccurate. Orbs are 3°

A mentally unstable Gemini

In the geo chart, the man has 5 planets plus Black Moon and Sappho in Gemini. Mercury is part of this configuration and is retrograde - mental agility which is dignified for the worst. If the moon is anywhere near right, it's at the end of Pisces or in the first decanate of Aries. This is an impulsive (Ma) Gemini who does not think too much before acting and who will be opinionated against every one else's advice (Me Rx).

Military by inclination

Considering his military career, naming himself a Colonel and keeping his title throughout his tenure, the Moon is probably in Aries. His Mars Neptune sextile from Cancer to Virgo made him an outstanding military man, capable of organizing the army (which he did with success) when he grabbed power.

Your money is my money

Venus in Taurus will make him like riches, which he will obtain (Ve trine NN) but use in a bad way (Ve sqr Pl). The Jupiter Neptune square will make him have grandiose ideas many of which he can organize well (Ne qcx Pallas). Jupiter Neptune is also connected to oil. The opposition of Ceres to Neptune will make him selfish beyond his close family circle. It might be rather interesting to trace where the oil money went, because it certainly wasn't given to the people.

Truth, half-truths and lies

The slightly wide Mercury-Neptune will make him a person having pathological difficulties with truth. Mars in Cancer will make him use secrecy and manipulation against others, as well as stubbornness.

A selfish dictator

Saturn conjunct Uranus in Gemini will have him use his sense of responsibility for the masses, in particular with the sextiles to Pluto and, possibly, the Moon. It is true to say that there was a time, long ago, when he was popular and considered an Arab Robin Hood. Sadly, the heavier planets faults and an egotist Moon made him turn his sense of control and power only to serve himself and none other.

Unyielding with family members

The helio chart shows that if any of his family members do not agree with him, he'll be unforgiving with them (almost exact Ve sqr Sa, and Pl qcx Ve and Ce). On the other hand, if they obey, he'll shower them with gifts and affection.

A dictator by stars

The only sign that this man would shed his fellow citizens blood to remain in power is vested in the lone Chiron in Leo, void of any major aspect, with the majority of planets in impersonal airy Gemini; and, very possibly, in the exact conjunction of the Black Moon to Sappho. He actually has enjoyed making others suffer if one considers the darkest of the significance of the Black Moon and Sappho - Sappho being fear personified and both of which are quincunx the Accursed Degree of the Accursed Sign. This man considers others as objects or animals, not as human beings. Torturing others was but one way to avoid confronting his own fears. Briefly, the chart is pretty well suited to this ruthless dictator.

;;

Like father, like son...

His second son by his second wife, Saif al-Islam Muammar Al-Gaddafi, is the man who made the speech last night. As a speaker for his father, he presented a rather poor show of a human being at the same time contrite and vengeful. Like the other leaders involved in the Middle East unrests, he started blaming everyone but his dog for inciting riots in his country. Offering a carrot to negotiate a national dialogue with a stick of civil war and bloodshed, he showed his worth, in the last minutes of this speech, by promising the army would bring order by any means and would destroy all elements of sedition (as quoted above and as I took notes from the interpreter).

Saif al-Islam Muammar Al-Gaddafi, born 25 June 1972, time unknown, set for 12 noon.

TO BE CONTINUED...
This astrology article is continued here with Libya's chart, the timing of the speeches by Gaddafi and his son Saif that started full-out bloodshed. , the exact time of landing of the military jets in Malta, and more.

Bahrain Pearl Revolts Astrology

BREAKING NEWS ---- Pearl Revolts in Bahrain crushed in blood at crack of dawn today 17 February 2011 at around 3.30 am local time... Police clears Pearl Square in Maname, many injured, more killed... Follow Al-Jazeera for live news. Horoscope charts below.

.
Astrology charts for the crackdown on peaceful protesters in Pearl Square, Manama, Bahrain.

Crackdown on Pearl Square and Lulu Road

There aren't definite figures for the number of dead and injured and the toll is likely to mount in the next few hours. However, these figures should not, so far as can be ascertained, go much beyond the dozen for the dead and around a hundred for the injured.

The government has made clear that it will not tolerate the Bahraini protests. The riot police attacked the peaceful protesters without warning, among whom women and children sleeping on the Pearl Roundabout.

Astrologically, the approaching opposition of Jupiter to Saturn in the heliocentric charts is possibly the worst that can happen, and that's going to be on 23 February 2011. Freedom of Jupiter against Control of Saturn. It was sheer luck that the Egypt Nile Riots did not end in a blood bath. As time goes on, however, the planets are coming to very difficult configurations and many astrologers think that a dramatic turn to people's uprisings in Arabia are likely to happen. On the geocentric scene, the planets are fairly rapidly coming to forming stelliums in Aquarius and Pisces in the coming weeks. This cannot be good.

A Stubborn King

King Hamad ibn Isa Al Khalifa was born on 28 January 1950, in Riffa, Bahrain. Time of birth is unknown and his chart has been set at 12 noon local time, as per tradition. He has 4 wives and 12 children. He ascended as an Emir on 6 March 1999 and proclaimed himself as king on 14 February 2002.

His natal chart shows very tight aspects, which is to be expected with his position, as well as great financial wealth aspects (unsurprisingly). On a side note, it is fairly common to find very tight aspects in ruling people's charts, particularly when such kings and heads of State come from a long line of reigning families, which is the case here - his lineage dates back to the early 18th century. The tribe he belongs to predates the rise of Islam.

The most difficult aspect in his chart, and that which may well precipitate his downfall, is the Saturn-Chiron square, which became exact the very night of his birth. This is in addition to a tight conjunction of Mars to the South Node Ketu, which is going to bring him a fighting spirit for all the bad reasons and against just cause.

On the other hand, this king also has extremely good aspects for remaining in power such as, for example, a Pluto-Chiron trine, but it's 1°24' off in orb.

Deception by Words

His mental capacities are very sharp with a Mercury-Pluto trine, although that aspect is separating and may not be fully functional depending on transits. His almost exact Mercury Neptune square is likely to provoke flights of fancy and an inability to disentangle truth from dreams, whether in his own thinking, or through treacherous advice received from his advisers.

;;
This aspect alone, if activated by transits, would be sufficient to have him be misunderstood when he delivers speeches on television - which is probably what happened yesterday when he apologized for the deaths during the demonstrations of the day (before last night attacks). During this difficult period of 2011, transiting Saturn is hovering to the conjunction of his radical Neptune, therefore lending a heavy influence to the square to Mercury. This would invariably lead to a narrowing of the thinking abilities, dogmatism and inability to see the greater picture.

Wealth and Optimism

As this king has a natal conjunction of Sun, Venus and Jupiter, he is by nature a carefree spirit who may not always enjoy his career. As an optimistic temperament, he may be prone to dismiss dire warnings until after it is too late. The good side of this conjunction is that he has been bestowed with numerous honorific titles.

A Steel Fist in an Iron Glove

His heliocentric chart show much of the same configurations or dispositions. The most unfortunate of which is a repeated Saturn Chiron square. It's applying and is lent nasty strength by the proximity of Mars to Saturn. The man, once he has set up his mind on a course of action, would be unyielding to any reasonable argument. He may show despotism, idiotic iron willpower and possibly brutality. This is in spite of the Mars Saturn quincunx to Jupiter, as the latter is pretty weak by any other aspect. There will also come a point where this man may think of his skin before anybody else's, because of the close heliocentric conjunction of Earth and Venus.

The geocentric and heliocentric charts show a king that the stars call power hungry and a control freak under stressed circumstances. All in all, a probably OK monarch under normal circumstances, who may show the worst of himself in such a situation as is presently happening in Bahrain.

Is there Hope for a Peaceful Resolution?

It is to be hoped that the stars are not 100% right and that, as was the case with the Egypt Revolution a few days ago, some small mitigating factor comes to save this country from a medieval massacre. On balance, the planets say otherwise. This is a very difficult time for this country and it would be surprising if there is no change in government. A change that may be born in intense sufferings.

Independence from Great Britain

Bahrain was granted independence from Great Britain on 14 August 1971. According to Nick Campion, the proclamation was published during the afternoon and the radio broadcast by Kuwait was delivered at around midday. The charts below are set for this date and time. Note that the planets are splashed all over, with a significant conjunction between Moon and Saturn. This type of chart is very vulnerable to heavy transits and the country would never be completely quiet for long periods. This would entail, in order to keep peace and order, a strong ruler who may not be afraid of being called a tyrant and of quashing any rebellion from the masses. A case in point...

Astrology of the Middle East Revolts 2011

Revolt on the Nile

Last UPDATE for now - As you already know, Hosni Mubarak has finally stepped down on 11 February 2011 at 16:02 GMT (18h02m Egypt time). I was quite worried that the passage of Mars in Aquarius, plus all the other planets congregating in difficult places would cause much violence.

In fact, and although there were a few dead people and injured during the 18-day revolution, the Egyptian people showed great maturity and a blood bath was avoided. With hindsight - of course I would be right with hindsight - well, I think it was the mutual reception of the planets Mars and Uranus (in the helio chart) - traditionally considered as beneficial, that gave the final verdict: a peaceful revolution. I probably had underestimated the strength of this particular configuration.

That being said, the Nile Revolution is going to prove the first of the dominoes of the Arabian unrests. The planets are not getting any better in the next few months, so expect rather larger difficulties for other countries - which is what I already hinted at somewhere lower on this post.

As usual, I'll try and complete the articles, as and when I get time... There are a few more dual charts I'd like to post for Egypt, then I'll split the article so as to have a proper Tunisian backgrounder article with horoscopes.

Tonight, 15 February 2011, I hear that Bahrain, Yemen, Jordan and Algeria are experiencing the seeds of revolt as well. I'll get to these as soon as I can - but I do have a full time-table. So, again, be patient and come back.

OK, here below are relevant charts for the fall of Mubarak. Below them, a part-live blogging of the Egyptian Nile Revolt and some more relevant charts towards the middle/end of this post. There are also some more astrology charts of unusual interest, such as the Internet BlackOut Chart, on the other post about Egypt as well as some astrological analysis of other Egyptian charts..

.
Horoscopes of Mubarak's fall on 11 February 2011 at Cairo, at 18h02m (local time, GMT 16h02). Geocentric on the left, heliocentric on the right.

Note in the heliocentric chart that Uranus has just gone into Aries - within hours. This ingress is very important - it's likely going to be the drive to other revolutions in Arabia.

No-one could ever swear that the time of the downfall of Mubarak was chosen with the stars and astrology - even though Ancient Egypt had very sophisticated astronomers. Yet, look at the angles, which perfectly describe the situation: Neptune, Chiron and Sedna on the angles in the helio chart. The same ones plus the Moon and Fortuna conjunct on the MidHeaven. The Asc rising on the very last degrees of Leo, "the end of the reign". Sedna is corruption personified, Neptune is deception. These aptly describe the state of Egypt when Mubarak fell. The position of Neptune on the DSC is exact within 4 minutes of arc!

Mars was just approaching the Sun, showing the rise and takeover by the military, in Aquarius, in a peaceful manner. Uranus and Jupiter, opposing Juno, from the VIIIth to the IInd show illegal profits, selfish money and hidden money.

UPDATE - Live Blog - I'm now (21h00m GMT - 3 February 2011) having difficulties in obtaining some of Al Jazeera's website pages. Hopefully it's just a little glitch and Internet will be functional again soon. So I was right! The blog page was off for a while - no indication if it was on Al Jazeera's side or an Internet problem though.

Meantime, violent clashes continue, the live cameras show horrific scenes. The army is just not doing a decent job to either calm either side or separate them. Molotov cocktails are flying from roof tops, shots are heard above the heads of protesters.

Protesters are locked in Tahrir Square, they cannot get out.

Al Jazeera says that the situation is calmer, perhaps the calm before the storm. Other big towns are continuing demonstrations. There are no news about the seaside resorts at the moment.

I'm off now, but watch tonight and tomorrow afternoon very carefully, the horoscopes are not good. Cross fingers it does not end up in a blood bath!

UPDATE 3 February 2011

Christiane Amanpour has just interviewed Mubarak this evening - see her story here.

During the previous night (from 2 to 3 February), more shots were fired directly at the protesters. I don't have the exact time the slaughter started, but when I woke up in the dead of night, at 4h24m am (Egypt time), I heard the machine guns on the Al Jazeera live reports, with a journalist quoting that the gunning had started about an hour previously, so about 3h20m or thereabouts Egypt time (1h20m GMT).

As always, armies or attackers, follow the classical strategy of attacking during a New Moon, just when the skies are the darkest.

Reports say that the first heavy gun fire started at about 00h45m am Egypt time (22h45m GMT), being shots  fired in the air.

I have heard or read reports on both French and English-speaking media that journalists are being chased brutally, arrested. French International Radio reports that one foreigner was beaten to death (identity not yet confirmed). American CNN lead anchor Anderson Cooper was injured by stones and his crew attacked (born 3 June 1967 at 15h46m, New York, United States). In the late afternoon, a Greek journalist was stabbed.

More prisoners have escaped from prison. Rumors say that this was deliberate and that they were sent to battle the anti-Mubarak protesters.

In the afternoon, the army has tried to separate the two groups, with little success.

Egypt's Health Ministry claims that 13 people were killed and 1'200 were injured in the previous night.

In the Lebanon, protesters clashed in front of the Egypt Embassy.

Vice-President Suleiman claims the chaos is provoked by unfriendly news media - same line as in Mubarak's speech the day before.

2 February 2011 - Although the first shots were fired in Alexandria the night before, clashes started to become severe on the afternoon of 2 February 2011 in Cairo, in Tahrir Square. Pro-Mubarak protesters attacked the anti-Mubarak ones charging with horses and camels (see Al Jazeera photographs) with people defending themselves with pavings or stones, in what could be aptly described as medieval scenes. Rumors were made that the attacks were engineered by the PTB to scare the unarmed anti-Mubarak protestors. The time of the entry of the horses and camels charge was at 12h59m GMT in Tahrir Square.

News media crews started being attacked. The number of dead, and it's difficult to ascertain due to the confusion in the field, was quoted as between 5 and 8, but the number of injured, according to most sources, numbered in the hundreds. Ambulances were prevented from picking up the casualties until late into the night. Attackers starting throwing Molotov cocktails from the upper floors of the buildings surrounding Tahrir Square.

Meanwhile during the day, the Internet was switched back on and the time when it started functioning again was 10h32m GMT, just shy of a day before my own prediction (see the other article):

If any luck, then the geo charts should kick in on 3 February with both Mercury and Venus changing signs, the first goes into Aquarius, the second in Capricorn
However, reports about Internet functioning say that it's not up and running well everywhere - which is to be expected in this chaos, despite the RIPE organisation showing acquired addresses in the same numbers as prior to the crisis.

1 February 2011 - Panic and clashes 22h15m GMT - It's in Alexandria

Clashes are beginning in Alexandria between the two groups, for and against Mubarak.

Another reporter says that there is no real violence, just a bit of over-excitement in Alexandria, nothing serious. (But I heard the shots myself in the background of the first reporter). He says misunderstandings and arguments.
FIRST SHOTS FIRED 22H21 GMT MACHINE GUN PANIC, next shots at 22h26 GMT, Alexandria

Al Jazeera says clashes erupt in Portsaid and Alexandria when the army departs (from the areas where demonstrators are) between pros and anti Mubaraks.

Well I've just heard more shots 22h48 and 22h49 GMT in the background of the reporter who says it's not serious. And some more shots at 22h49 (I don't have the seconds on this clock). That's in Alexandria.
Reporter in Cairo says clashes occurring also.

MUBARAK'S main points on tonight's speech (on 1 February 2011with times) are written below, scroll down. I'm off to bed now. Will continue this live blog tomorrow, morning or evening depending on the events happening in Egypt. For the moment, at the time of writing, 21h33 GMT, the crowds are angry, but not violent.

Mubarak will not step down. States he defended Egypt soil, he will die on Egypt soil. SEE DETAILS BELOW, I WROTE AS HE SPOKE.

Egyptians not happy, Tahrir square erupting in chanting "Leave, leave, leave"

STAY TUNED - this night is important

Astrological charts can be found on this post. It includes a chart for the Internet interruption by the Egyptian government. In the next few days, another article on the astrological transits of the 4 main people involved and of Egypt's horosscopes. Tonight Monday, there seems little happening more than the previous days. The government has stopped the railways to prevent people pouring into large towns and Cairo for tomorrow's call for a million demonstrators. The Americans have made an aerial lift to evacuate their citizens, other countries are doing so.

OK, this is Tuesday 1st February 2011, I'm on line and writing this blog live while listening to satellite TV. Follow online live coverage by Al Jazeera. UPDATE as of 21h36m Cairo time (19h36m GMT). It's been announced that Mubarak will talk on TV shortly. Waiting for this to give you the first news.

The call for protests today has drawn about 2 million people throughout the country. More than a million are in Tahrir Square, chanting and shouting. The demonstration is, for the moment, peaceful. Outside the square, along the Nile (or on the bridge), there are also many demonstrators in support of Mubarak. The army is keeping in between. The army is also controlling the access to Cairo centre, checking IDs and making sure no-one bears any kind of arms.

The Americans are sending in planes to evacuate non-essential personnel. The British are sending charters tomorrow. The Chinese also.

The Turkish government has sided with the demonstrators.

There are TV screens on Tahrir Square. On the announcement that he would give a message, the crowd started celebrating. Al Jazeera claims from diplomatic sources that Mubarak will announce that he will not claim another mandate again at the next elections.

It seems that the crowd will not be content until he leaves. The motto is "Victory or Martyrdom".

Iranian Government says it supports the protestors.

Members of the US government have met with opposition leader El Baradei.

I've been hearing from other sources that there are problems in Yemen now (to be confirmed)

Myanmar Military Government is now handing power to new parliament.

NY times says that Obama has told (ordered?) Mubarak not to run for the forthcoming elections next September...

From other sources, family members of Mubarak have already flown to Britain. Since Mubarak's mother is British, he holds dual citizenship and so his family, who can then fly to Britain quite anonymously...

People in Tahrir Square have the good will of the population, they have erected tents and receiving drinks and food from the population. They are prepared to sit it out. The crowds will not be happy unless Mubarak quits. Suez and Alexandria are also very determined. It looks like a grass root movement throughout the country.

People are saying that 25 January is the new birthday of Egypt.

Tahrir Square's name means "Liberty Square"

From Al Jazeera live blog:

- 10:00pm Reports of protests being held all over the world, with more being planned in the coming days. See Al Jazeera's meetups around the world here.

Near real time activity of the Internet networks in Egypt. Very interesting, as at 08h00m GMT on Sunday 30 January 2011, still no Internet activity. Go see the graphs and history below (it's too big to put in my article).

The astrology of the entry of Pluto in Capricorn and of Jupiter in Aries are signing the start of revolutions in North and West Africa. Uranus will soon join the flow of revolts in Aries and this should herald more unrest this year. Totalitarian governments should beware throughout the world. Horoscopes for countries which routinely deny basic human rights to food, work and opinions will be afflicted for the next few years. We are witnessing the start of another world, shifts in the world balance of power.

Keep refreshing your screen (F5) as I am adding to this article as events unfold.

This article documents live events and keeps changing by the minute. The astrology of the Egypt Revolution will have to come a little later as I keep busy bringing here, in one place, all the information I can find useful to the astrology community so you can start collating the data to draw up the horoscopes. Fascinating and beautiful pictures of the Egyptian Revolts here, and here.

President Mubarak made a speech on TV on Friday 28 January 2011: start of speech 22h17m GMT - end of speech at 22H29M GMT. He said that riots occurred because of political freedom and that there was a fine line between chaos and freedom. That he would use all his powers to keep society together. He announced that the government would resign and that another would be appointed on Saturday 29 January 2011. Which happened on the said date, with Messrs. Air Force Air Marshall Ahmed Shafik appointed as Prime Minister and Omar Suleiman appointed as the first Vice-President of Egypt in its history.

I have put two rss feeds on the post, so you can see the progress of events in Egypt. They are unfolding quickly. Whereas the Tunisian revolts were more or less calm and haven't as yet provoked too many dead or injured, Egypt looks like it might become a case of terrible violence if the government continues to harden its stance.

Friday 28 January 2011, the crowds were cheering the army, having defied the cover fire which had been decreed. The army was not firing on the people.

However, all international media had been interrupted, such as all Internet, Twitter, Facebook, land telephone lines as well as cell phones. This was the first time that there is such a total block on communications in a country. How they did it, article from Scientific American.

Prices for oil went sky high during the night because of fears on the stock markets. The Dow Jones has registered its largest drop since last November 2010. French TV mentions that if Egypt continues to have trouble, Europe may have problems in getting the oil it needs. A number of companies which use the Suez Canal extensively are likely to encounter financial problems if the riots continue.

Saturday 29 January 2011, on the appointment of the new government, the crowds are not happy and are defying the curfew. It has been reported that the Army, after requesting people to respect the extended curfew from 4 pm to 8 am, has started firing at crowds. It looks like, from witnesses reports, it's really the police which has fired. The ruling party HQs in Luxor and Aswan have been torched in flames. Israelis flee Egypt on emergency flight.

Saturday night 29 January 2011, rumors are very worrying. Looters, police stations attacked. Contradictory information. Complete breakdown of law and order. Ordinary citizens patrolling also to protect from vandalism and looters. Witness reports to be verified, water cut off in one district, civil patrols shot looters. But army does not seem to react. Airport is blocked (no details). Witnesses say that the police force has fled, leaving only the army and ordinary citizens. Chaos is now happening if no leader comes forward. It does look like the Army seems unwilling to fire on the crowds.

IMPORTANT - JUST IN FROM AL JAZEERA on
30 January 2011
(times are local to Cairo)

11:40 am: Al Jazeera issues a statement denouncing the closure of its bureau in Cairo.

"The Al Jazeera Network strongly denounces and condemns the closure of its bureau in Cairo by the Egyptian government.  The Network received notification from the Egyptian authorities this morning.

Al Jazeera has received widespread global acclaim for their coverage on the ground across the length and breadth of Egypt.

An Al Jazeera spokesman said that they would continue their strong coverage regardless:

"Al Jazeera sees this as an act designed to stifle and repress the freedom of reporting by the network and its journalists.   In this time of deep turmoil and unrest in Egyptian society it is imperative that voices from all sides be heard; the closing of our bureau by the Egyptian government is aimed at censoring and silencing the voices of the Egyptian people.

"Al Jazeera assures its audiences in Egypt and across the world that it will continue its in-depth and comprehensive reporting on the events unfolding in Egypt.  Al Jazeera journalists have brought unparalleled reporting from the ground from across Egypt in the face of great danger and extraordinary circumstances.  Al Jazeera Network is appalled at this latest attack by the Egyptian regime to strike at its freedom to report independently on the unprecedented events in Egypt."
  • 11:27 am: Al Jazeera's Evan Hill, tweeting from Cairo, says: Several aspects of the apparent government shutdown of AJ remain unclear. We're all waiting now.
  • 10:55 am:  Al Jazeera's correspondent Dan Nolan and web producer Evan Hill say Egyptian state television report that Egyptian authorities have ordered the Al Jazeera Arabic offices in Cairo closed and have suspended its correspondents' accreditations.
  • "The team watched the announcement go out live on Nile TV. They said our broadcasting license and press credentials are being revoked," Hill reported from Cairo.

WIKILEAKS - has issued two articles (here and here) on what is presently happening. The list of the US Embassy Cairo Cables is here.

WARNING

Do NOT ACCESS the WIKILEAKS

links ABOVE if you live a country

where you could come to harm

for visiting this site...!!!

I'm sure you'll be able to read extracts of these cables in some mainstream media later tonight or tomorrow, such as The Guardian, the New York Times, Le Monde and others - where there will be no risk to you.

Whereas Western governments were timid in issuing encouragements for freedom in Egypt a few hours ago, the EEC has issued a pro-revolution speech tonight. The US are also, in the last hour, coming round to the idea that this revolution is serious and are showing anxiety. The French radio I'm listening to while writing this article has just mentioned that from unofficial medical sources, there are:
  • Cairo: at least 50 dead and 1-2'000s of injured people. Other figures (Al Jazeerah) 1030 injured. (figures keep changing). Witnesses say body count increasing. Hospital looted.
  • Cairo: at least 50'000 people in the two main squares of the capital
  • Suez: Al Jazeerah mentioned 38 dead and more than 170 injured in Suez on Friday night, no updated figures yet.
  • Alexandria: 36 dead
  • Travel advisories - most countries recommend not going to Cairo, Suez and Alexandria at this time, but report that the southern towns resorts for diving are untouched (as yet) by the revolution. In fact, travel agents are offering to rebook travellers to Egypt from the towns where the revolution is happening to these sea resorts.

The rioters claim that the Army will not shoot them - that remains to be seen. Headquarters for the ruling party have been set to fire twice and subject to looting. On the other hand, protesters are presently trying to protect a Museum from damage.

Below are the basic astrological data for astrologers, I will write articles as and when I can, but will try and provide the astro data as events unfold, so you can use it.

Egypt's Horoscopes. According to Nick Campion, in his "Book of World Horoscopes", Egypt may rightly have four valid horoscopes in modern times. These are:
  1. The vote in the House of Commons in London, which abolished the Protectorate, at 10h43m pm on 14 March 1922; this vote took effect in Cairo at the same time. In his words the chart "represents the de jure restoration of Egyptian independence. Click: Chart for London, Chart for Cairo

  2. The official proclamation of Egyptian independence and Egyptian kingdom took place at 10h00m am on 15 March 1922 in Cairo. Chart

  4. Another proclamation of the Republic occurred after a second coup on 18 June 1953 in Cairo at 11h30m pm. Chart
